Patricia Gandara

Since 1990, Professor Gandara has utilized her expertise in educational research to work toward improved policy and practice in the field of education with the goal of improving opportunity and outcome for students at all levels. Among her activities she serves as Chair of the Scholars of Color in Education Committee for the American Educational Research Association and is also a member of the Social Justice Committee. She is dedicated to improving education for the children of California’s poorest communities, as evidenced by her participation in the preparation of the landmark Williams v. California class action case.
