Randi Hagerman School of Medicine Pediatrics Recipient 2004-2005

Professor Hagerman is the Medical Director of the M.I.N.D. Institute. As Professor of Pediatrics, she holds the Tsakopoulos-Vismara Chair. Even prior to joining the UCD faculty in 2000, she was an advocate, nationally and internationally, in the neurodevelopmental areas of autism and fetal alcohol syndrome. She co-founded the National Fragile X Foundation and works closely with the Center for Disease Control and with the National Institutes of Health. She has given generously to many non-profit groups evidencing her passion and advocacy for the health of children, in particular, in these important areas.
